Here is a nice article and speech by Kofi Annan about how the US should not sacrifices its Democratic mores for a little fleeting illusion of safety.  I’ve felt this way for quite some time and I think that Annan puts it very eloquently.

Here is the story. I guess Bush doesn’t have much choice in the matter, does he? It’s fun to watch all of his ‘not gonna budge’ stances crumble.

Did you know Vice President Cheney has an openly gay daughter?  I didn’t know that until I read an article on CNN about her being pregnant.  Not sure how I missed that before.
Anyway, I wonder how she feels about her father’s stance on gay rights.
